2nd Grade Pumpkin Perspective

2nd Grade Pumpkin Perspective

Learning Goals:
Students were introduced to, and discussed perspective, and how things get smaller as their distance from the observer increases.  Students practiced perspective by drawing pumpkins in a field.  They created their artwork using oil pastels.

Students had a great time making this project...and even weeks later I saw them using perspective with all kinds of objects! Trees, apples, cats, dogs, etc!

2nd Grade Watercolor Leaves
Learning Goals:
Students were introduced to warm (red, yellow orange) and cool (green, blue, and purple) colors.  Students were also exposed to organic shapes (leaves), and discussed the parts of a leaf.  They used crayons and watercolor paint to practice using warm and cool colors and create their artwork.

Week 1, we drew our leaves using crayon, and week 2 we discussed warm and cool colors + how to use water color paints.  They really enjoyed the results!
