2nd Grade Pumpkin Perspective
Learning Goals:
Students were introduced to, and discussed perspective, and how things get smaller as their distance from the observer increases. Students practiced perspective by drawing pumpkins in a field. They created their artwork using oil pastels.
Students had a great time making this project...and even weeks later I saw them using perspective with all kinds of objects! Trees, apples, cats, dogs, etc!

1st Grade Jack O Lanterns
1st Grade Jack-O-Lanterns
Learning Goals:
Students practiced drawing shapes by constructing a pumpkin and adding a face. Students were exposed to geometric shapes (triangle, circle, and square). Students discussed how to combine simple shapes to create a face. They used crayons to create their artwork.

2nd Grade Watercolor Leaves
Learning Goals:
Students were introduced to warm (red, yellow orange) and cool (green, blue, and purple) colors. Students were also exposed to organic shapes (leaves), and discussed the parts of a leaf. They used crayons and watercolor paint to practice using warm and cool colors and create their artwork.
Week 1, we drew our leaves using crayon, and week 2 we discussed warm and cool colors + how to use water color paints. They really enjoyed the results!
